Stained Teeth

There are numerous reasons why teeth may stain, and those reasons can range from internal sources(intrinsic) or external courses (extrinsic). Extrinsic stains such as coffee or tea stain the exterior of the teeth, due to the pigment of the beverages staining the film of plaque on your teeth. Due to the type of stain, ways to correct the stain may vary, and it is beneficial to having your teeth cleaned prior to teeth whitening.

Prevent Stained Teeth

Think of your teeth as having “pores”. Your teeth absorbs the food and drinks you consume. Avoid food and drinks that can stain your teeth, drink through a straw to minimize contact with your teeth, come in for frequent dental cleanings as well.

Dental crowns work similarly to veneers in that they cover stains, but they cover the entire tooth.
