Make Tooth Flaws Magically Disappear with Porcelain Teeth Veneers

When you meet someone for the first time, what’s the first thing you notice about them? Their smile, of course! A dazzling smile makes a great impression on others and is hard to forget. Should you desire, you can improve the aesthetics of your teeth with porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers can make tooth flaws magically disappear to give your smile a radiant appearance. You can learn more about veneers from Drs. Ryan Lepore and Erin Doughtery at Lepore Comprehensive Dentistry, Dunedin, Florida.

About Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin, semi-translucent porcelain shells that can be bonded to the surface of imperfect teeth to conceal tooth flaws and give your smile a nicer-looking appearance. Veneers can make dull, dingy teeth appear white. They can erase gaps between teeth, lengthen short teeth, or give misshapen teeth a symmetrical appearance. Veneers don’t change your teeth physically; they merely mask tooth flaws to bring out your smile’s inner beauty.

Your dentist can use veneers to camouflage:

  • Stains and discolorations
  • Chips and cracks in your teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Misshapen or irregular teeth
  • Worn teeth
  • Teeth that are slightly crooked or uneven

Your smile can have a totally new appearance in just two dental visits. Veneers can be used to beautify one tooth or many. In fact, we can make multiple tooth flaws disappear with the same treatment to save you time and money.

Before and After Results

Porcelain Veneers Before and After Results

The Veneers Process

Getting veneers starts with a consultation with our dentists to confirm that you’re a good candidate for veneers. If you have good oral health and have minor imperfections that veneers can fix, veneers could be a good fit for you.

Porcelain veneer treatment generally takes three dental visits to complete. On your first visit, we’ll assess the problems that need to be addressed and outline a treatment plan. We will take design records so we can expertly communicate with our partner laboratory in the planning phase. Then, on your second visit we’ll prepare your teeth by removing a small layer (often thinner than ½ a millimeter) of enamel to make room for veneers. Afterward, we’ll take digital impressions of your teeth and send these to an off-site lab to custom-design and fabricate your veneers, which generally takes a few weeks. In the meantime, we can place temporary veneers on your teeth.

Once your final veneers are ready, we’ll call you back to finalize your treatment. We’ll remove the temporary veneers and replace them with custom-crafted porcelain veneers to give your smile a smooth, polished finish. You’re now ready to show off your beautiful new smile to all you meet!

Caring for Veneers

You care for veneers the same way that you care for your teeth – with regular brushing, flossing, and quarterly dental cleanings. Although porcelain veneers resist stains, you should be careful of what you eat and drink to avoid dulling your smile’s appearance. With good care, your veneers will stay beautiful and bright for 10 to 15 years!

Review by Marietta Correale

As a person with extreme anxiety (especially at the dentist) I have to say, this is one of the few places I have ever felt comfortable. Well, as comfortable as I can, that is. The staff has always gone out of their way to make sure I was doing okay and never made me feel like I was being ridiculous (even though I usually am). I am greatly appreciative of their patience, humor, and honesty.
